I love to ramble (had you guessed?), but I was thinking along with the silliness, I’d like this site to be a place where people and companies are exposed for their wrong doings; a place where the cards are put on the table for all to see. So, I think we need to define some terms to lay the groundwork. Let’s go to the online dictionary so we can all be on the same page. Fakes something that is a counterfeit; not what it seems to be forge: make a copy of with the intent to deceive; "he faked the signature"; "they counterfeited dollar bills"; "She forged a Green Card" imposter: a person who makes deceitful pretenses fudge: fake or falsify; "Fudge the figures"; "cook the books"; "falsify the data" bogus: fraudulent; having a misleading appearance juke: (football) a deceptive move made by a football player bullshit: talk through one's hat; "The politician was not well prepared for the debate and faked it" not genuine or real; being an imitation of the genuine article; "it isn't fake anything; it's real synthetic fur"; "faux pearls"; "false teeth"; "decorated with imitation palm leaves"; "a purse of simulated alligator hide" wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn The fourth one had to be written by a fat person. Bogus…I like that word. Hmm. The seventh one down surprised me. Frauds intentional deception resulting in injury to another person imposter: a person who makes deceitful pretenses something intended to deceive; deliberate trickery intended to gain an advantage wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn In the broadest sense, a fraud is a deception made for personal gain, although it has a more specific legal meaning, the exact details varying between jurisdictions. Many hoaxes are fraudulent, although those not made for personal gain are not best described in this way. Not all frauds are hoaxes - electoral fraud, for example. Fraud permeates many areas of life, including art, archaeology and science. ... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraud Fools make a fool or dupe of a person who lacks good judgment fritter: spend frivolously and unwisely; "Fritter away one's inheritance" chump: a person who is gullible and easy to take advantage of gull: fool or hoax; "The immigrant was duped because he trusted everyone"; "You can't fool me!" jester: a professional clown employed to entertain a king or nobleman in the middle ages horse around: indulge in horseplay; "Enough horsing around--let's get back to work!"; "The bored children were fooling about" wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn I eat fritter here in the South…corn, apple, etc. And I thought chump was what you throw in the water to attract fish…oh, no, sorry that’s chum. Anyway, now we all know the goal for content on this site. I hope people will interact here. Form and format are open. If you’re the fool, I’d like to hear it or if you’ve been fooled by a fake or fraud, let’s call them out! Silliness is absolutely acceptable as are issues of a serious nature. My vision includes scrolling blocks that name Fakes, Frauds and Fools. (Once I figure out how to make that happen.) Maybe we can have a Fool of the Week block right at the top where we can post names and pics (serious or for fun). And finally, I’m going to begin putting a story block at the end of the post. For those who like prison B-movies, I will be posting an on-going series. Warning: The content will be R rated. It will contain profanities, some sex and violence, since that’s what prison is about.
