Blogging has become a business for many.  Advertisers big and small are paying bloggers to review or advertise their products, websites and services.  While there is nothing wrong with this practice, disclosures are an important issue for your readers.  On television, we know when the commercial comes on during the news, or in the middle of a primetime show, but when someone is reading it may be difficult to know what is prose and what is an advertisement.  Many are clearly marking posts that are paid, but just as simple is to go to www.disclosurepolicy.org/ and create your own personal disclosure.  Post it in your sidebar or your footer and your readers will know that some of what they read may have been paid content.  It's quick and easy.  Check it out.
