LINDA Yes, please. Remember the time you offered mother electrocution and she said you should take elocution lessons? BRIAN You mean when I offered to make her a chair? When your Dad had to turn his back and leave the room because he couldn't stop laughing? LINDA Yes. Well, Dad still laughs at that one now. I think he wishes he's said it to her. God, she can be so nasty. BRIAN I was disgusted when we went for that meal at the L'Horizon, when she told Ann's fiancee how he should hold his knife properly. LINDA Embarrassing or what. I don't think she was too happy when I told her how rude I felt she was being at the time. Ann just sat there and let her get away with it. How can you say you love someone, then not only let someone else pick on them like that, then backing the picking on by agreeing with it in public? Poor bloke must have been really hurt by that. Horrible. I just wish my mother wasn't such a snob. BRIAN You won't change her, love. LINDA No, and I've given up trying. Come on, lets go out for a walk...I need to stretch my legs. We'll have that coffee when we get back. They both go out of the half stable style back door.
