INT. JERSEY HOSPITAL - NIGHT Linda is alone in a private room of the maternity hospital. She is sitting up in bed holding her back, obviously in pain. She pushes the button to call the NURSE. The nurse enters. INSERT CLOCK ON THE WALL 11:45 LINDA Please could I have some more pain killers for my back? My kidneys are still playing up. NURSE (handing Linda two white pills) There you go, love. Don't worry, it will be all over tomorrow. Try to get some sleep now. LINDA Thanks, I will. Linda dozes off. DISSOLVE TO: INT. JERSEY HOSPITAL - NIGHT INSERT CLOCK ON WALL 1:10 Linda is sitting up in the bed again holding her back. The nurse enters again. NURSE Yes, dear? LINDA My kidneys are still playing up...could I please have something for it so I can get back to sleep? The nurse goes over to Linda. NURSE I'll just check you out first. Camera view of Linda's face as the nurse checks her out. NURSE (O.S.) Well, dear...it's not your back...you're not too far off from giving birth. You should be in the delivery room! LINDA Oh, shit...can you phone my husband please? I want him here. Camera shot widens to include the nurse. NURSE I'll phone him but I don't think he'll get here in time! Linda gets out of the bed and her water breaks.
