My son is a career student. He just finished his Bachelors in Nursing and is now looking for the right program for his Masters. Right now he is looking at doing some teaching or at least having that option available to him should he tire of the thankless job he does right now at the hospital. He has narrowed his search down to a couple of places.
First and foremost, he has to find a MS Instruction program that is online because of his crazy hours and he wants a place that is fully accredited and has a good reputation. It is important to him that graduates are respected and employable in their respective fields of study.
In his search he found that Saint Xavier offers an online Master of Arts in Curriculum and instruction. I was not sure that this would be appropriate for him because I thought he was looking at being a “teacher.” He explained that he would be teaching at the hospital, developing the lesson plans for required nursing classes and that this class would be totally appropriate. He said that St. Xavier’s curriculum seems very innovative and in-depth and includes things like integration of technology and a lot of diversity.
He feels they have quality class offerings and comprehensive enough program to help a graduate excel. I think his mind is made up and I’m glad because I think he’s making a good decision.
