I think I am going to get me a couple of custom water bottles. I know that probably sounds dumb, but I go to a lot of bike week festivals and I swear I lose two or three water bottles every time. It's not that they are so expensive, but I like having one with me always and it seems that the minute I put one down it is gone. Maybe if it had my name on it, or something unique that I could identify people would keep their hands off of them.
