I love to watch auction hunters and all those shows where the guy bid on and win abandoned storage units. I love when they find musical instruments. The one I watched today was cool. They found an old zildjian cymbal. When they took it to some appraiser the guy was talking about how well they are made, etc. Bottom line, the fact that it was old and in good condition, it was very valuable! Wow, I had no idea!

Yep, it's that time of year again. Sadly at my home only my dad is still alive and he is a corker. He has already called and suggested cigars. Well, that's cool, but, I get sick of buying him the same thing every year. I think I will get his cigars and maybe one of the gift baskets for dad that I saw on a website. I think he'll like it!

Planters and things

I think I need to dress up the sunroom, on the outside. You know I am rarely ever out there so I really didn't realize how plain and drab it looked. I was thinking that some nice hanging planters and maybe a hummingbird feeder would dress it up a bit. I found a great website that sells all kinds of planters. Today is the first day of my new life

You all know I made quite a run of researching testing diet pills. It was okay but I never reached my goals. However, I went early yesterday morning and got a lapband. Today is 24 hours post op and I'm feeling pretty good. It occurred to me this morning that I am not likely to be looking a diet pills or trying to find out if an apidextra scam exists or not. Hopefully I will lose all my weight now with the help f this band.

My oldest son has a girlfriend that has three kids. They are really great kids and I think she is a nice person too. My husband and I really want to bond with the kids and so we were looking at Vacation homes in Kissimmee Fl thinking it might be nice to take them to Disney. But...as soon as we start making plans, they (their mom and my son) start fighting with each other and threatening to break up. I don't want to get too emotionally involved with these kids if that would happen. I sure wish they would make up their minds.

Do you ever have one of those days where you just don't want to do anything? You know, you're not mad and you don't feel bad, you just want to chill. Well, that was my plan for today. I was actually feeling very happy about it. I got all comfy on the couch with a nice cup of coffee and I turned on a movie I had recorded. Five minutes into it, my son calls and says, "Hey can you get online and find me some vhb tape ?" OH! I know it's not a big request, but this is the day I wanted no requests. I guess I'll get online and find it for him, then I'm not even going to answer my phone.

Wow, there is less than 30 days until I get my lapband. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I'm hoping I can reach my goal weight by September or October. At that time I am literally going to clean out my closets and drawers and start all over with pants, shirts, dresses, shoes and boots . Even if something in there fits me, it's gone.

I thought I was going to be done shopping when we got the sunroom furnished. However, I wasn't thinking about the fact that we would still go outside on occasion. So, there is one more thing I want to buy and that is a couple of resin Adirondack chairs. This way should we decide to hang out outside we can at least sit down. I'm not a fan of sitting on grass.

If I ever have grandkids and my kids have actual homes they are buying, I am going to buy commercial playground equipment at PlaytimeUS.com for their back yard. I remember when my kids were young, they probably went through 4 or 5 swing sets. Not my grandbabies....I'm going to buy them the best so that it only has to be bought once!

Since the internet has come along, I have become such a savvy shopper. Before I buy anything, I research the product. One of my favorites things is to check out reviews that are online. The last thing I checked out was a possible slimvox scam. But what I found instead was that the reviews were good. I think everyone should do like I do before spending your hard earned money.

Today I want to tell you about a program I found on the internet, but first a little back story. I have always wanted to learn how to play the piano. When I was young like maybe 8 my mom signed me up for lessons. Well, it lasted all of four weeks because I got so bored.

Later when I was about 14, a friend of mine tried to teach me to no avail. I just couldn’t get my fingers and hands working. Finally when I was about 30 years old, I signed up for lessons and the teacher started with scales and notes and music theory! I hated it! I just wanted to learn how to play songs. I resigned myself to the fact that I was not ever going to play piano.

Fast forward to retirement. My husband and I had a house built and there was a room that should have been a formal living room. It is bright and airy and has tall ceilings. I just didn’t know what I wanted to put in that room. In my mind’s eye I just kept seeing a baby grand piano. After a lot of talking and then searching online to find the best deal, we bought one. OMG it was beautiful!

I played around on it and searched high and low on the internet trying to do any and all of the online classes. No luck….I was discouraged but still not unhappy that I owned a piano.

Well, I was on YouTube one day and came upon a guy named Tim showing some things on the piano. His company/program is called PianoFool. There was just something about watching his one video that piqued my interest so I just had to try it.

So, let’s take a look at his program. I am a bit of a slow learner when it comes to the piano, but I have to tell you that this is the best program I have come across. Tim speaks my language and that is, learn how to play songs! I love it and I CAN PLAY a song now! Check out this video to see me play.

Now, you may be thinking, “oh big deal, she can play one song.” Well, let me tell you, I now know that by the time I complete the three other segments, that I will be able to play just about any song. It took me a little under a month to learn what you are seeing on the video, however; this program has shown me a method that allows me to play other songs as well which is so cool. When you are finished you will have the skills to go out and figure out how to play what you want to play like a pro.

PianoFool gives you the most direct approach to playing and Tim demystifies what you are actually doing. It is step by step with written instructions including diagrams and he shows you on video how to do it and how it should sound. Each section should be practiced for five days, so you should know your song in about a month.

There are four popular songs to learn and then when you are finished you will know all of the chords and how to play them like a pro on any song. It’s actually foolproof. If you have always wanted to learn to play the piano, then I would highly recommend you visit http://pianofool.com.

The program is inexpensive and downright cheap when you figure that you are going to learn in a month what some people take two years to learn. Well it's April and my kids are already asking me what I want for Mother's day. Well, I usually ask them to get me gift certificates to art supply places so I can buy paint and canvases. But this year, I', asking for a pandora bracelet . I have seen them advertised on TV and I really like the way they look and how they are personalized. I hope they pay attention to what I am saying!

Spine Surgery

My husband has had back problems forever! About 30 years ago he had major back surgery and got a little relief for a few years. However, as he has gotten older he has definitely gotten worse. He went to a doctor last week who suggested laser spine surgery and said that the surgeries are much better today than they were years ago. I think he is considering it because he is sick of the pain. I just hope it works for him.

Music lessons

My youngest son has always wanted to learn to play an Electric Bass guitar. This past Christmas I bought him one and he was really happy! However, he has just been sitting around plucking at it because he doesn't know how to play. His birthday is coming up and I think what I am going to do is to pay for some music lessons for him.

I finally made the decision to get a lapband. Not like it was a hard decision. I've wanted one since they came out however, I just now have insurance that will cover it. I have almost everything done that needs to be presurgery so the next step will be preop tests and then the surgery. I could probably get it done the second week of April but my mom is coming to visit and I don't want to be feeling bad while she is here so I will probably do it the first week of May!

This is unbelieveable! I am so excited. Guess what I'm doing.

I've told you all before about how I have always wanted to learn how to play piano. So much so, that I bought a baby grand and when I couldn't learn anything, I painted the picture of it. Well, I really never wanted to sit down with a teacher, even though I did for one month a few years ago. I just couldn't seem to get beyond chopsticks and all I wanted to do was learn how to play a song all the way through.

Anyway, you guys know that I am constantly reviewing products for companies, so I contacted a guy I found online who said he had "the method" that could help someone learn to play the piano. My first thought was "yeah, yeah, of course you can." But, you know I would never say that out loud. He was very nice and I told him I'm a really slow learner, but he seemed confident that I could learn. Confident enough that he gave me a password so I could follow his system and then review it.

I'm in week 3 (lesson 3) and I can't begin to tell you how excited I am! This is the first time I ever felt like playing could be a reality!!!!! I'm not doing a review here and now because when I do, I will post a video along with a complete review, but I just had to share this with you! Next time you guys see me I am going to be playing you a song! There's no doubt in my mind! So, look for a review in the near future, maybe 8 weeks?

Spring has Sprung!

I love spring but it really is expensive to get the outside looking good again. We started with the first lawn mowing of the season. We trimmed, we edged and then we weeded and pulled dead stuff from the flower beds. Today we went and bought a ton of flowers, fertilizers, weed and feed and a few shrubs. It's going to look great! The only thing else that I may want is a porch swing or a tree swing in the back yard. I complain every year but it really is worth it!

When I moved in with my roommate, things were great at first. We seemed to agree on everything from our Direct.TV package to how we would split the cleaning and chores. She seemed like a nice girl, and I was happy that I found a normal roommate to split the bills with. I have lived with my fair share of weirdos, and I didn’t want to go through that again. Little did I know she would turn out to be a nightmare. She always has her friends over, who are so messy. I wouldn’t mind if she cleaned up after them, but sometimes the messes stick around for days. She also hogs the bathroom in the morning, so I have been late to work several times. I am going to sit her down and have a talk with her to see if we can figure this stiff out. I like her, and I don’t want her to move out, but she needs to be more respectful. I think she will understand once we talk, and I hope she doesn’t get offended.
